Before the Career Expo

If you send materials prior to the career expo, contact the Expo Coordinator to confirm that your display/materials were received. Consider bringing 50 copies of your company information in case of shipping problems.

 

During the Career Expo

            Have plenty of business cards to pass out to candidates.

Step out from behind your table to be more approachable to candidates.

Bring small promotional items so that candidates have a reminder of your company after the expo.

Use displays that are visually and graphically attractive, have pictures of the work setting, and feature engaging information about job opportunities.

Consider bringing a current employee that has a military background to assist you with recruiting efforts.

Recruit for high quality, substantial positions so that candidates have a good experience with your company.  Word-of-mouth goes a long way in the military community.

 

After the Expo

Follow-up in a timely manner with all candidates.  Let candidates know whether they will receive an interview or if they are no longer being considered.

If you have no immediate job opportunities, keep in touch with those candidates who you are interested in for future openings.
